Relationship with God

It’s easy to start a relationship with God.

If you just want to know God better, or if you sense that something isn’t right between you and Him and you wish you could fix it, you don’t need to wait any longer. God loves you and is waiting for you with open arms. All you have to do is respond; and, it’s not hard to do!  Here are some simple steps.

ADMIT
you have sinned and need forgiveness. The first step towards making a change is recognizing a need exists. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrated His love toward us that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.”

BELIEVE
the good news of God’s love for you.  You don’t have to “clean yourself up” before coming to God.  He accepts you just as you are. John 3:16 says, “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son; that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

CONFESS
your sins and ask for God’s forgiveness.  Just imagine a life free of regret and guilt!  God promises to forget your sins in 1 John 1:9. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

DEMONSTRATE
your decision by taking practical steps to grow in faith: baptism in water, baptism in the Holy Spirit, and becoming part of the Church. Acts 2:28 says, “Then Peter said to them: Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the Holy Spirit.”
