21 Days of Prayer.

II Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then i will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Some say, this is the most important election in our nations history. As an armature history buff, I’m not sure I would agree, but I do believe we are living in dangerously divisive times. Party lines have been drawn, not just in Washington, but in our churches.

When it comes to politics, Christians have certain responsibilities :

Christians are commanded to pray for their leaders, which is what we are doing.

Christians are called to be good citizens, which we are when we vote.

Christians are called to live at peace with everyone, which we must do, win or lose.

Christians are called to be Kingdom voters. That’s what Pastor Tony Evans calls it. In a recent conference I heard him explain that Christians are Kingdom Independents. We can only be Democrat or Republican light (or whatever you flavor) because we belong to another kingdom. How we live and how we cast our vote needs to reflect those Kingdom values.

Whatever the future, remember God is still in control.

Whatever the results, remember we’re part of another kingdom.

Keep praying and trust God for the outcome.
