Incoming Potential Board Members
Wade Gillespie

Wade was born in Durban, South Africa, attended seminary there and then attended college in the US where he met his wife Kristie. They have been married for 33 years and have a 29 year old son, Nick, and a 26 year old daughter, Mollie. Both their children are married, and Wade and Kristie were blessed with their first granddaughter three months ago.

Wade spent 28 years in full time ministry in various positions until he retired from that calling and now owns a small business here in Palm Bay.

Wade and Kristie have been attending Centerpointe since 2020 and Wade is a part of the teaching team here at Centerpointe. He and Kristie have also hosted a small group in their homes for the past several years.

They are both excited about being members here at Centerpointe, and are committed to the vision Centerpointe has both now and in the future. Wade is looking forward to using his gifts and experience to partner with the people at Centerpointe as we grow into the future and further bless this community with the presence of Christ.

Steve Petty

Steve Petty and his family started attending Centerpointe four years ago. He and his wife Krista have been married for 33 years and have four children including Kayla, Jenna, Ryan and Takkiah. After working in church ministry for more than 20 years, Steve now works as a chaplain for Wuestoff Brevard hospice.

Steve has been involved in the church his entire life as his father was a minister and his mom was a hospice nurse. He was born in Kentucky, but has lived in many different places, including nine different states. Steve and his wife Krista met in college in Tennessee and have been involved in ministry together ever since.

As we were looking for a church home when we moved to Florida, we wanted to find a place that was a good representation of our community with all of its diversity. We also wanted to find a church that loved God, served others and could become a place where we felt at home as we knew no one in Brevard County when we arrived 4 years ago. Centerpointe is that place. We have found a great worship environment, biblical teaching, and a caring community.”

Since joining Centerpointe , Steve and Krista have led a small group in their home, been a part of the teaching team, worked with the foster parents support group and Steve is currently part of the Building Team.

Chari Rigby
Charí Rigby grew up all over the country including Puerto Rico with her dad’s Navy career. She is the youngest of five and considers Chattanooga her hometown because she and her parents settled there after her dad retired. She went to high school and college in and around Tennessee. Jason Rigby, our frequent bass player, was her college sweetheart and they were married in 2003 shortly before moving back to his hometown, Palm Bay Florida in 2005. Both of her parents are believers. She grew up going to whatever church was available on base or nearby but lived in a reformed/Presbyterian tradition.

Jason and Charí graduated from Covenant College and then attended Covenant Presbyterian before coming to CenterPointe Church in 2018. They have two kids Jack (17) and Fiona (16) who are finishing up high school soon at Melbourne High School. After 14 years at Space Coast Credit Union, Charí took her licenses to Raymond James in 2020 where she is still working as a financial advisor out of her Melbourne office. She absolutely loves her job and is blessed to offer planning and financial management services in Brevard County.

Family is a huge part of the Rigby experience, living near both parents and 15 nieces and nephews on Charí’s side alone. Church family is equally important. Charí has served on the financial committee for two years, taught financial peace several times, and volunteered for different youth, back to school, and visiting seniors events. As a busy schedule allows she attends women’s events and recently enjoyed the family fellowship small group. Charí is honored to join the board and use her personal and professional experience to keep Center Pointe awesome. Her Biblical Studies degree may finally come in handy.
